Discover a preserved nature in the Var
If the Var is one of the most touristic departments of France, it is nonetheless one of the greenest. In the heart of the Côte d’Azur and the Alpes de Haute-Provence, the Var is the second most wooded department in France and this is one of the reasons why camping enthusiasts appreciate it so much! Its Mediterranean climate, its varied landscapes are real treasures for nature lovers.

Port-Cros (Les îles d’Or)
Port-Cros is one of the three islands of Hyères and is located opposite the Camp du Domaine. Port-Cros’ National Park was created in 1963 and has become the first European maritime park. The island is completely covered with forest and can be visited on foot. A real jewel for those who wish to immerse themselves in a preserved natural environment. With its abundant fauna and flora, Port-Cros does not lack in varied species, both on the island itself and within its marine perimeter. It’s an ideal place to go around the island snorkelling or scuba diving.

La forêt et le Massif des Maures
Treat yourself to a stroll full of magic in the forest, climbing up Maures Massif. In complete freedom, off the beaten tracks or with a professional guide, walk and let yourself be surprised, as you walk, by the perfumed essences of lavender, narcissus and broom.
From Le Lavandou and Bormes-les-Mimosas, there are many hiking and mountain biking trails. Whatever your level and the age of your children, be sure to find a suitable circuit for all members of the family!

Le Domaine du Rayol
A few kilometres only from the campsite, between Le Lavandou and Saint-Tropez, discover a protected natural space of about 20 hectares, in Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer, at the foot of the Maures Massif. A truly enchanting area in which a renowned landscape designer, Gilles Clément, designed the Jardin des Méditerranées, a place full of delights containing trees from all over the world!
In the Jardin des Méditerranées, in Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer, you will dive into the heart of a New Zealand forest, pass by a shipwreck, cross a pine forest and make a detour into the Gardens of Australia, America and the Canary Islands. More than a journey: a perfect illusion!

Les étangs de Villepey (The Villepey Ponds)
Those who love flora, fauna, landscapes and natural spaces like to immerse themselves in the remarkable site of Villepey. This wetland, one of the few on the coast, is a mixture of ponds, lagoons and meadows. A mosaic of environments which includes a great variety of plants and animals.
The Villepey Ponds site is particularly interesting for ornithologists: it houses more than 220 species of birds and is an important place during migration passages. Do not miss it!

Saint-Raphaël and the Massif de l’Estérel
The red rock of the Massif de l’Estérel and its steep topography make it an absolutely remarkable natural site, which has been inspiring tourists, artists and writers for hundreds of years! Attached to Africa several million years ago, the Massif de l’Estérel gave birth to Corsica. It offers surprising and contrasted landscapes and extends to the towns of Saint-Raphaël, Fréjus, Bagnols-en-Forêt and the Adrets de l’Estérel. An ideal place for hiking, mountain biking or horseback riding.

Gorges du Verdon
On your way to the Côte d’Azur or on your way home, stop over at the Gorges du Verdon, considered as one of the most beautiful canyons in Europe. A site to discover, for its beautiful landscapes and its many villages (Valensole, Riez, Aiguines, Bauduen, Castellane, Moustiers, Sainte-Marie …).
The Gorges du Verdon are a delight for nature lovers, sports enthusiasts and fishermen. The Verdon is one of the richest rivers in Provence (trout, pike, carp …).
