Bormes-les-Mimosas,  a unique and enchanting place

Let yourself be carried away by the beautiful and special climate of Bormes-les-Mimosas, a village nestled in the heart of the French Riviera, near the îles d’Or at the foot of the Maures Massif. Bormes-les-Mimosas has so much to offer: between luxurious nature and historical heritage, the village – labelled « Tourism resort » since 2013 – has many assets that make it a destination of choice, only a few steps away from the Camp du Domaine campsite.

Heritage and Culture

Bormes-les-Mimosas has a cultural heritage dating back to the 12th century, which has allowed it to be listed as one of the most beautiful sites in France.. Lovers of old stones and history, do not miss the following sites:

  • Saint-François de Paule chapel
    A pretty romanesque-style chapel, built in 1560
  • Notre-Dame de Constance chapel
    At the end of a beautiful walk, this chapel must be visited after a 124-meter climb.
  • Saint-Trophyme church
    This 13th century church has a sundial that never ceases to arouse curiosity.
  • The Lords of Fos castle
    The highest point of the village, built between the 13th and 14th centuries.

Unusual natural environment

An exceptional site and an exceptional flora: the particularity of the mimosa is that it blooms in winter! It is this very characteristic, together with the many trees in the village, that have given its name to Bormes-les-Mimosas in 1968.

The medieval village of Bormes-les-Mimosas regularly receives distinctions and labels, valuing its position as « the most beautiful floral village in Europe ». These include the labels “Village 4 fleurs”, “Grand Prix national du fleurissement”, “Fleur d’Or” etc.

In addition to strolling through the village’s little lanes, nature lovers will particularly appreciate:

  • The mimosa road, starting from Bormes-les-Mimosas, spreading over 130 km to Grasse.
  • The Parc Gonzales, a botanical garden of more than 3000 m² in which visitors love to get lost amidst amazing Mediterranean species
  • The Cavatore nurseries: More than 180 species to discover
  • Valérie Torres: Producer of mimosas flowers to cut

Arts and crafts shops

If you like shopping, art and crafts, you’ll love walking around Bormes-les-Mimosas, where you will find a large number of little shops offering traditional products and souvenirs. Within the village, it is best to wander at leisure. You will find plenty of art and crafts shops and a few gems that you’ll fall in love with!

The Fort de Brégançon : unavoidable !

During your stay in Bormes-les-Mimosas, do not miss the Fort de Brégançon, at the tip of the small hamlet of Cabasson, an unusual site that has become the official residence of the presidents of the French Republic since 1968. Located on a majestic rock, the Fort de Brégançon is full of history and fascinates all visitors, young and old, who can walk freely in the gardens after a guided tour of the house.

The Fort the Brégançon is open 7 days a week and the visit lasts for about 2 hours.
